- Dishonest Play: Manipulating game outcomes or Elo points dishonestly.
- Impersonation: Posing as game admin, support, or another player.
- Unauthorized Transactions: Selling or trading accounts or in-game currency obtained unfairly.
- Tournament Misconduct: Using multiple accounts or manipulating tournament outcomes by collusion.
Reasons for Muting:
- Offensive Language: Using swear words, insults, or threats.
- Spamming: Repeating the same message continuously.
- Hate Speech: Promoting ethnic or religious hatred.
- Inappropriate Content: Sharing violent, pornographic, or offensive materials.
- Privacy Violations: Disclosing another player's private information without consent.
- Language Misuse: Using a different language than what's designated for the chat room.
Determining Bans and Mutes length:
The length of bans and mutes is based on the offense's severity, intent, repeat violations, and impact on the community. Longer or permanent penalties are more likely for repeated or harmful actions. Each case is assessed individually to ensure fair and appropriate sanctions, aligning with our commitment to a respectful gaming environment.
Consequences:
Violations can lead to temporary or permanent mutes or blocks, with the specific penalty depending on the offense's severity. The administration decides the appropriate action to maintain a respectful and enjoyable environment for all players.
For a detailed understanding of what constitutes a violation, players are encouraged to review our Code of Conduct. This document outlines all rules and guidelines to ensure fair play.
Ensuring Fair Play:
To avoid facing penalties, follow the game's rules, respect fellow players, and promptly report any observed misconduct or game exploits. If unsure whether an action is against the rules, it's best to err on the side of caution and assume it is. Your dedication to maintaining a positive and fair gaming atmosphere is invaluable to the Backgammon Masters community.
