Code of Conduct & Penalties

Welcome to Backgammon Masters! Our community is built on fairness, respect, and sportsmanship. To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, we've outlined our Code of Conduct below. Violations may result in penalties, including muting or banning of accounts.

1. Account registration

  • 1.1 Each player may register only one account. You're accountable for all actions performed with your account.
  • 1.2 Owning multiple accounts can lead to muting or banning for rule infractions.
  • 1.3 Our administration may audit accounts or gameplay to detect and address misuse.

2. Chat behaviour

Our international chat connects players globally. Please adhere to the following to maintain a positive atmosphere:

  • 2.1 Respect Moderators: Their decisions are final. If you disagree, contact us via contact form with details and evidence, not in public chat.
  • 2.2 Engage respectfully and politely with fellow players. The chat is for discussions on games, strategy, and fostering goodwill.
  • 2.3 Chat privileges are provided to enhance your gaming experience. Abuse of this feature can lead to penalties.

Account penalties

Actions taken against accounts include, but are not limited to:

  • Muting for chat violations, restricting chat access while allowing game play.
  • Banning for severe or game-related violations, potentially permanently.

Reasons for Mutes or Bans Include:

  • 3.1 Inappropriate language, insults, or threats in public chat.
  • 3.2 Inciting hatred based on ethnicity or religion.
  • 3.3 Sharing violent, pornographic, or offensive content.
  • 3.4 Unauthorized distribution of copyrighted or protected material.
  • 3.5 Revealing personal information of others without consent.
  • 3.6 Misuse of chat by communicating in an unsupported language.
  • 3.7 Usernames with swear words, insults, or mimicking administrative titles.
  • 3.8 Dishonestly manipulating Elo points or game outcomes.
  • 3.9 Exploiting bugs or hacking the game for benefits.
  • 3.10 Advertising or soliciting within the game.
  • 3.11 Illegally transferring account data for profit.
  • 3.12 Posing as game staff or administration without authorization.
  • 3.13 Account trading or selling, including in-game items like gold.
  • 3.14 Using multiple accounts in the same tournament.
  • 3.15 Rigging tournaments, games, or challenges by misusing accounts.
  • 3.16 Utilizing unauthorized third-party images as avatars.

Guidelines for Fair Play

  • Stick to one account and engage with the game and community honestly.
  • Respect others in chat and gameplay, celebrating the spirit of competition.
  • Report issues or concerns through official channels, aiding in maintaining game integrity.
