TOURNAMENTS
Weekly Challenges

Players compete to see who wins the most gold coins. At the end of the week, a winner is chosen.
In Backgammon Masters, after reaching level 7, access opens to Challenges—events similar to tournaments that are held on a regular basis for the title of the best player of the week. Such events can be tied to holidays, for example Christmas or the Project Anniversary.
You can find information about Challenges and join on the “Quick Play” tab in the game lobby. Just press “Continue”, choose the backgammon style, and take part sparing no gold!
Entry Requirements
- Entry fee: 2000 coins
- Style selection: You can compete in Nardegammon (narde with doubling) or in backgammon.
Participation
Before pressing the “Take part” button, you need to choose the backgammon style you prefer. At the moment, Challenges in the game are held only in two styles: Nardegammon and Backgammon. You can participate in only one style.
To participate in a Challenge you must pay the entry fee. You pay coins that are credited to your Challenge balance. Matches in the Challenge are played at the base stakes, as usual, but you risk only the coins that are on your Challenge balance. You can play at any time during the week.
Of course, if you don’t have enough coins for the next game, you can top up the balance. To do this, use the “Top Up” button. Topping up the balance will cost you the same amount as the initial entry fee.
Stakes
In the Challenge you can play at base stakes of 100 (in Blitz mode), 500 and 1000.
By default, only the 100 stake is available; the other stakes are locked.
To gain access to the 500 stake, you must acquire 3 wins at the 100 stake.
To access the 1000 stake, you need 3 consecutive wins at the 500 stake.
After topping up the balance, unlocked stakes are reset.
Maximum Win
Each base stake is limited by a maximum win. The maximum win depends on the number of wins and your balance. With each win, the possible win amount at the selected stake doubles. By default, the maximum win is X2 of the stake; that is, when playing at the 100 stake, you can win or lose only 200 coins. But with a victory this value doubles.
Schedule
The Challenge is held every week. Start at 12:00 GMT on Monday. End at 11:00 GMT the following Monday.
The results of the Challenge are summed up at 11:00 GMT on the next Monday. Registration is open from 12:00 GMT Monday to 10:59 GMT Sunday. You will not be able to register for the Challenge if less than 24 hours remain before it ends.
Challenge play is open from 12:00 GMT Monday to 09:59 GMT Monday. You will not be able to play in the Challenge if less than one hour remains before it ends.
Leaders of the Week
Throughout the Challenge you can observe the intense struggle unfolding on the leaderboard. Scroll the Challenge panel up and you will see the list of the most active players of the week. To get into this list you need to have a lot of coins on your Challenge balance. If you win large amounts, your position in the list will rise. You can find your current position there as well, in the “My position” field. The leaderboard becomes available after there are at least 50 participants in the Challenge.
Opening Chests
During the Challenge you can receive magical chests containing various game cards. With these cards you can change your game board beyond recognition and surprise other players and your friends.
You can find the progress indicator for opening a chest right on the Challenge panel. As soon as the indicator fills up, the chest will be available to open. Open it immediately! You will definitely like what you find inside.

All cards won in the Challenge can be found and applied in the Gallery. To do this, open the left panel and click “Gallery”.
Keep in mind that you can receive only 5 chests in a Challenge. And the more chests you have already taken, the harder it will be to get the next one.
The task is made more difficult by the fact that your losses are also taken into account. The more you lose for large amounts, the fewer chances remain to open a chest.
| Required to collect | |
|---|---|
| Chest #1 | 1500 gold |
| Chest #2 | 3000 gold |
| Chest #3 | 7000 gold |
| Chest #4 | 20000 gold |
| Chest #5 | 65000 gold |
Of special interest is that chests may contain themed cards that are available only in the given Challenge. For example, if the Challenge is held at Christmas, you will definitely find Christmas cards in the chests that cannot be found anywhere else.
Shielded chests
In every challenge you get 3 shielded chests. While a chest is shielded, your losses don’t count against it, which makes it much easier to open.
You lose one shield each time you either open a chest or join the challenge again.
You can also find extra shields among your trophies.
Rewards
At the end of the week, on Monday at 11:00 GMT, the winners are announced. All participants who made it onto the leaderboard receive the coins they won during the week, and the very best player, who took first place, receives a gold medal and is sent to the Hall of Fame.

If you were not in the game at that moment, it’s okay, when you enter the game you will receive a notification about the Challenge results, and the reward, if you made it onto the leaderboard, will be issued to you automatically. If you participated in the Challenge last week, you can always view its results. On the “Quick Play” tab in the game lobby, you can find the previous Challenge.
